Working on speech

We decided to help Henry out with his speech by enrolling him in an early intervention program just like we had with Jane when she was about his age. He talks well just not where he should be at his age. I was worried that when he got a bit older he would show signs of autism like Jane did but he didn't just again with speech.

His speech therapist is the best! She is so good with him and gives me lots of great ideas that I wouldn't have thought about to work on with him. We are working on his P's and B's and a few others.

I was so excited to hear some new words come out of his cute mouth and I know he sometimes it can be frustrating for him when he can't express what he wants but we are getting there.

Jane is a good older sister and even with her speech she helps him when we are looking at pictures or books she points out what the object is so it helps him hear it as well. Typically when the older sibling can talk well then the middle child catches on is what I found but in our case its hasn't been that way but its okay. We take these challenges and grow as a family

What challenges have you faced with your child(ren) and what helped you through it?
